Tehran (ISNA) – The second press conference of Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian began on Wednesday in Tehran.

A number of journalists from Iranian and foreign media are taking part in the press conference.

At the beginning of the conference with reporters, Amir-Abdollahian announced that a foreign conspiracy to bring about a civil war and finally divide Iran has failed.

Referring to the foreign policy doctrine of the 13th government, Amir-Abdollahian said, “Neighbors and the Asia have significant place in this doctrine”.

He also announced that since the last 14 months, the volume of Iran’s trade exchanges with the Europe and other parts of the world, especially its neighbors and the Asia have increased from 37% in the lowest to 571%.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Amir-Abdollahian emphasized that the West with its negative human rights record is in no position to talk about Iran's human rights situation.

Referring to the recent talks with Iraqi side, the Iranian top diplomat stressed, “Baghdad government and the Iraqi Kurdistan region have promised to secure their borders in the Kurdistan region by the deployment of Iraqi troops at shared borders with Iran but that has not been done yet”.

Stressing that the exchange of message between Iran and the US continues in its diplomatic path, Amir-Abdollahian said, “But some American officials announce non-constructive positions in media and continue their hypocritical positions”.

Amir-Abdollahian further said that Iran wants to continue nuclear talks to revive the JCPOA and remove the sanctions to maximize the Iranian nation's interests with might.

He emphasized that Iran is looking for a good and constant agreement.
