Karachi, May 8 (PTI) Pakistani authorities are expected to go ahead with its goodwill gesture to release on Friday 199 Indian fishermen arrested for allegedly fishing illegally in the country’s waters, despite the death of an Indian civilian who was to be repatriated with them.
Karachi, Mar 31 (PTI) At least 11 people, including women and children, were killed and several others injured in a deadly stampede at a Ramzan food distribution centre in Pakistan's port city of Karachi on Friday, officials said.
The stampede took place after some people unknowingly stepped on a live wire where food was being distributed, leading to the tragedy.
Soon, people started pushing each other, due to which some even fell into a nearby drain, police said.

ISLAMABAD, May 23 (NNN-APP) – The death toll of a passenger plane crash in Pakistan’s southern port city of Karachi has soared to 80, while seven others, including people aboard and those on the ground were injured, police said.
Rescue teams shifted 48 bodies to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre, and 32 others to the Civil Hospital Karachi, police sources in Karachi said, adding that, most of the bodies have been burnt beyond recognition and will be identified by DNA testing.
ISLAMABAD, June 20 (Xinhua) -- At least three people were killed and several passengers sustained injuries when a passenger train collided with a cargo train near Hyderabad city of Pakistan's southern Sindh province on Thursday, railways officials said.
A driver, an assistant driver of the passenger train and a security guard of the cargo train were killed and multiple others injured when the Lahore-bound Jinnah Express collided with the freight train near Hyderabad, Federal Railways Minister Sheikh Rasheed Ahmad said.
