COVID-19: Indonesia’s Daily New Cases Surpass 11,000 Mark

JAKARTA, Jan 14 (NNN-Bernama) — Indonesia has recorded the highest daily number of new COVID-19 infections, with more than 11,000 new cases reported in the past 24 hours.

The death toll due to the virus is also the highest, at 306 cases, bringing the total death toll across the republic to 24,951.

According to data published on the Indonesian government’s official website regarding COVID-19, covid19.go.id on Wednesday, the number of new positive COVID-19 cases for the past 24 hours was 11,278, bringing the cumulative cases to 858,043.

Jakarta remains as the province with the highest number of virus infections at 214,728 cases after recording the highest daily cases at 3,476.

Meanwhile, East Java remains the province with the highest death toll with 4,255 cases, 94 more deaths being recorded in the past 24 hours.
