Jaipur, Nov 16 (PTI) Amid pressure to reduce VAT after reduction in excise duty by the Centre on petrol and diesel, the Congress government in Rajasthan on Tuesday night announced to slash VAT to make petrol and diesel cheaper by Rs 4 per litre and Rs 5 per litre. respectively, from midnight.

This will result in annual revenue loss of Rs 3,500 crore to the state.

Noida, Nov 16 (PTI) A Rampur-based man has been arrested for allegedly raping a minor girl here two years ago after drugging her and photographing the episode, the Noida Police said on Tuesday.

The accused, who is in his early 20s, was held after a complaint was lodged by the mother of the rape survivor on Monday, Gautam Buddh Nagar Deputy Commissioner of Police (Women and Child Safety) Vrinda Shukla said.

GAUHATI, India (AP) — Two Indian journalists who were detained over the weekend on charges of inciting communal violence after tweeting that religious attacks on Muslims were worse than police had reported were granted bail by a court in the northeastern state of Tripura.

Samriddhi K. Sakunia and Swarna Jha were reporting on religious tensions in the state, where there were attacks against minority Muslims last month. Police said at least one mosque and several shops and homes belonging to Muslims were vandalized, but reported no deaths.

A state-of-the-art visitors' gallery will be inaugurated at the museum in a few weeks.
