India: 4 Kashmiris killed by Indian Sec Forces on J&K national highway of Indian Administered Kashmir

Jammu, 19 Nov 2020: Four Kashmiris were killed on Thursday by Indian security forces on the Jammu-Srinagar national highway on the outskirts of Jammu city of the Indian Administered Kashmir, Indian officials said.

India: Avalanche hits Army post in J-K, soldier killed

Srinagar, Nov 18 (PTI) A soldier was killed and two others were injured after an avalanche hit an Army post in Kupwara district of Jammu and Kashmir, officials said on Wednesday.

The avalanche hit the Army post near the Line of Control (LoC) at Roshan Post in Tangdhar area of north Kashmir's Kupwara district late on Tuesday night, the officials said.

They said an Army soldier was killed and two others were injured in the incident.

The injured soldiers were rushed to a hospital.

Indo-Pak talks must to end 'bloodshed': Hurriyat

Srinagar, Nov 14 (PTI) The moderate Hurriyat Conference on Saturday said India and Pakistan should hold talks to resolve the Kashmir issue and to stop the "senseless bloodshed" of people along the Line of Control (LoC).

In a statement, the Mirwaiz Umar Farooq-led amalgam expressed grief and dismay at the escalation along the LoC in which several lives were lost on Friday.

India: Army holds pre-recruitment training camp in J-K's Poonch

Jammu, Nov 14 (PTI) The Army on Saturday started a pre-recruitment training camp in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch district with an aim to provide employment opportunities and prepare the local youth to join the armed forces, a defence spokesperson said.

The camp was conducted at Salotri area of Poonch district and was heavily subscribed by youth seeking to join the Army, the spokesperson said.

India: JKPCC joins hand with Gupkar alliance

Srinagar, Nov 13 (PTI) The Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) on Friday joined the People's Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD), an amalgam of several parties in the union territory seeking restoration of the erstwhile state's special status.

Two Congress leaders participated in a meeting of the alliance at PDP president Mehbooba Mufti's 'Fairview' residence at Gupkar here.

Mufti is also the vice chairman of the alliance, led by National Conference (NC) president Farooq Abdullah.

India: Will hold tricolour and J-K flag together: Mehbooba

Jammu, Nov 9 (PTI) PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti on Monday asserted that she will hold the tricolour and the flag of the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir together, saying as an MLA she had reaffirmed her faith in the J-K Constitution and the sovereignty and integrity of India as both are inseparable.

The former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister had last month said that she was not interested in contesting elections or holding the national flag till the constitutional changes enforced on August 5 last year were rolled back, sparking protests in Jammu.

India: Cong demands rollback of new land laws for J-K

Srinagar Nov 3 (PTI) The Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) on Tuesday said the government statement on new land laws in the union territory was an attempt to mislead the people and called for rollback of these laws.

It questioned the official statement mentioning that bulk of agriculture land will not be transferred to people from outside the union territory.

"The statement is an attempt to mislead people on new land laws," the party said.
