06 Dec 2022; MEMO: Morocco qualified for the 2022 FIFA World Cup quarter-finals after beating Spain 3-0 on penalties on Tuesday, Anadolu News Agency reports.

Neither team was able to break the deadlock for the first 45 minutes at Doha's Education City Stadium.

Despite several efforts from both sides in the second half, neither national team was able to produce a goal as the match went to extra time.

The extra time in the Round of 16 matches was 0-0. So, the penalty shootout decided the winning team.

The brief trip was Bin Zayed's first to Doha since the three-and-a-half year Saudi-led embargo imposed on Qatar ended early last year. The UAE was one of a number of Gulf and other states involved in the embargo.
