Recession unlikely to hit India due to 'not so coupled' nature with global economy: S&P

Mumbai, Sep 21 (PTI) Global rating agency S&P on Tuesday said even though the US and the Euro zone are headed to recession, India is unlikely to face the impact given the "not so coupled" nature of its economy with the global economy.

Israel, Bahrain start talks on free trade agreement

20 Sep 2022; MEMO: Israel and Bahrain on Tuesday announced the start of negotiations to reach a free trade agreement between the two countries, Anadolu News Agency reports.

Israeli Economy Minister, Orna Barbivai, held official talks on Monday with her Bahraini counterpart to establish a free trade agreement between Tel Aviv and Manama, the Israeli Economy Ministry said in a statement.

Israel made concessions to Lebanon amid border dispute

20 Sep 2022; MEMO: A former Israeli military official said, Tuesday, that Tel Aviv had made "concessions" to Lebanon for reaching an agreement to demarcate their maritime border to avoid an escalation, Anadolu News Agency reports.

Amos Yadlin, the former Head of the Israeli Military Intelligence Division, said Israel was showing flexibility regarding the disputed maritime border with its neighbour.

"We do not want Gaza in Lebanon, Israel does not want Lebanon to drown," he told Israeli radio 103FM.

France and Iran Presidents meet amid nuclear talks' stalemate

Turkish President, Tayyip Erdogan, said on Saturday he was targeting membership of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation for Turkiye, which is also a member of the NATO defence alliance.

Saudi ready to support Lebanon on one condition: Geagea

21 Sep 2022; MEMO: The head of the Lebanese Forces Party, Samir Geagea, said Saudi Arabia is ready to support Lebanon on the condition that there is a trustworthy president and government.

Geagea, who met with the Saudi Ambassador to Beirut, Walid Al-Bukhari, wrote on Twitter that they had discussed the upcoming presidential elections, adding that the only salvation for Lebanon is its "Arab depth", and "adhering to the constitution".
