Mumbai, May 8 (PTI) Actor Kangana Ranaut on Saturday said she has tested positive for the novel coronavirus and is under home quarantine.

The 34-year-old actor, whose Twitter account was permanently suspended for repeated violations of rules earlier this week, shared her diagnosis on Instagram.

"I was feeling tired and weak with slight burning sensation in my eyes for past few days, was hoping to go to Himachal so got my test done yesterday and today the result came I am covid positive.

Mumbai, May 6 (PTI) Actor Abhilasha Patil, who has acted in films like "Chhichhore" and "Good Newwz", has died due to COVID-19 complications, her co-actor said.

Patil was in her 40s.

She was admitted at a hospital soon after she tested positive for the novel coronavirus and died on May 4.

Actor Kushal Koli, who worked with Patil in the show Shree Gurudeva Dutta , said he got to know about her demise through a common friend.

Mumbai, May 5 (PTI) In a bid to provide succor from scourge of COVID-19 pandemic, the Reserve Bank on Wednesday came out with Resolution Framework 2.0 under which individuals and small businesses having exposure up to Rs 25 crore can opt for loan restructuring if they had not availed the earlier scheme.

In case of those who had availed the loan restructuring under the earlier scheme, RBI permitted the banks and lending institutions to modify the plans and increase the period of moratorium.

Mumbai, May 4 (PTI) Twitter has permanently suspended actor Kangana Ranaut's account for repeated violations of rules, specifically its "Hateful Conduct and Abusive Behaviour policy , the microblogging site said in a statement on Tuesday.

The 34-year-old actor's handle @KanganaTeam now displays the message: account suspended.

Mumbai, May 3 (PTI) BJP Lok Sabha MP Sujay Vikhe Patil on Monday refuted before the Aurangabad bench of Bombay High Court reports that he had procured 10,000 vials of Remdesivir injections, used in COVID-19 treatment, from Delhi.

Vikhe Patil's counsel Shirish Gupte told a division bench headed by Justice R V Ghuge that the Ahmednagar MP had only transported 15 boxes, each containing 80 vials of Remdesivir, from Chandigarh to Shirdi airport.

Nagpur, May 2 (PTI) The Bombay High Court here on Sunday asked the Central government to increase the supply of Remdesivir injections to Maharashtra observing the current reduction in the allocation of the crucial drug is not consistent with the number of active COVID-19 cases as of May 1.

In a special hearing, the bench of Justices SB Shukre and Avinash Gharote heard a bunch of petitions on the shortage of medical oxygen and Remdesivir, which is in high demand for treating COVID-19 patients.

Mumbai, May 2 (PTI) As the TMC is set to retain power in West Bengal, the Shiv Sena on Sunday said Mamata Banerjee's win in her state is "victory of democracy" in India and the result would give a new direction to national politics.

Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut also hailed Banerjee as the "Tigress of Bengal".

"Congratulations Tigress of Bengal," he tweeted after Banerjee's Trinamool Congress (TMC) surged way ahead the BJP in the counting of votes currently underway.

Mumbai, Apr 29 (PTI) In the wake of recent fire incidents in hospitals in Maharashtra, the government has started safety inspection and audit of electrical installations in state as well as private-run COVID-19 medical facilities, a minister said on Thursday.

During the exercise, a major area of inspection and safety audit would be hospital ICUs, air conditioning system and lifts, energy minister Nitin Raut said in a statement.

Mumbai, Apr 28 (PTI) Former Maharashtra minister and senior Congress leader Eknath Gaikwad died of COVID-19 infection here on Wednesday, party sources said.

He was 81.

The former MP, who was the father of Maharashtra School Education Minister Varsha Gaikwad, succumbed to the viral infection at a city hospital around 10 am, the sources added.

Eknath Gaikwad had also served as the president of the Mumbai Congress.
