Israel defence minister ordered 1954 explosions that hit US, UK targets in Egypt

10 Dec 2022; MEMO: A document has revealed that late Colonel Binyamin Gibli, head of Israeli Military Intelligence between June 1950 and March 1955, was directly ordered by then-Defence Minister Pinhas Lavon to bomb US and UK targets in Egypt in 1954, Arab48.com reported on Friday.

Known as Operation Susannah, Gibli ordered nine Egyptian-Jewish undercover agents, members of Unit 131, to bomb UK and US targets.

Israel: EU envoys boycott Western Wall tour

10 Dec 2022; MEMO: Ambassadors of four European Union (EU) countries on Friday boycotted a tour to the Western Wall of Al-Aqsa Mosque led by Israeli Envoy to the US Gilad Erdan, Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth reported.

According to the Western Wall Heritage Fund, the activity was organised for a number of countries: "As part of an informational tour. The ambassadors of several countries toured the new route through the tunnels of the Western Wall."

Israel's gunboats, jets, drone violate Lebanon regional waters, skies

10 Dec 2022; MEMO: The Lebanese army announced on Friday that three Israeli gunboats violated Lebanese regional waters, while jets and a drone violated Lebanese skies, a statement revealed.

According to the statement, the Lebanese army confirmed that three Israeli occupation army gunboats violated regional waters opposite Ras Al-Naqoura.

Meanwhile, the statement added that an Israeli drone carried out a reconnaissance mission over Shabaa Farms, the Hasabya area, Mount Barghuz and the Litani River in Western Bekaa.

Iran Blasts “Unrestrained” Western Weapons Delivery For Further Complicating Ukraine’s Situation

TEHRAN, Dec 9 (NNN-IRNA) – The Iranian foreign minister said yesterday that, the “unrestrained” delivery of American and European weapons to Ukraine, has further complicated the situation in the country.

Hossein Amir-Abdollahian made the remarks, in a phone call with his Finnish counterpart, Pekka Haavisto, in which the two sides also discussed bilateral relations and the latest developments in Iran.

The Iranian top diplomat also voiced Iran’s opposition, to the continuation of the Russia-Ukraine conflict.

China's Xi calls for oil trade in yuan at Gulf summit in Riyadh

RIYADH, Dec 9 (Reuters) - President Xi Jinping told Gulf Arab leaders on Friday that China would work to buy oil and gas in yuan, a move that would support Beijing's goal to establish its currency internationally and weaken the U.S. dollar's grip on world trade.

Xi was speaking in Saudi Arabia where Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman hosted two "milestone" Arab summits with the Chinese leader which showcased the powerful prince's regional heft as he courts partnerships beyond close historic ties with the West.
