India: Train runs without guard

KANPUR: The engine of Farakka Express ran without the guard on the tracks. Lucknow bound train got moving up without the guard from the Central station here on Tuesday.

As the train’s guard arrived at the platform no. 9 of the railway station, he did not find his record box. Therefore he right away approached the GRP office to register the first information report.

The train’s driver did not take pains to contact the worried guard through a walkie-talkie and moved the train that even crossed the Ganga Pul over the river. The guard knew of the train’s status at that time. He informed of the matter to his seniors. The train was stopped at Magarwara station. The guard boarded a Goods train to reach there. About one hour was lost in this carelessness.
