16 Apr 2021; MEMO: Sheikh Muhammad Hussein, the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem and preacher of Al-Aqsa Mosque, called on Arab and Muslim nations to intervene against Israeli violations against the holy site, the Palestinian Information Centre reported.
Hussein said in a statement on Wednesday that the Israeli occupation authorities removed the doors of the Mosque's minarets, cut the electrical wires of loudspeakers to prevent the Adhan (call to prayer) and seized iftar meals, in addition to threatening to storm the mosque on the final days of the holy month of Ramadan.
He warned that Israel seeks to impose a new fait accompli on the Palestinians.
Regarding the threats of the so-called "Temple Groups" to storm the Al-Aqsa Mosque on the final days of Ramadan, Hussein stressed: "The Mosque will remain an impenetrable barrier against anyone who tries to desecrate its courtyards."
He also called on the Palestinian population of Israel to intensify its presence at Al-Aqsa to repel the setters' incursions into the Muslim holy site.
