Kanpur: The weather reports said that there has been no rain in the district since February.
In the previous years, usually, the pre-monsoon activities began with a surge in heat. Light rain at an interval of a few days brought a feeling of relief.
The month of March was considered the hottest in the last 121 years.
Now the month of April has also been untouched by monsoon activities.
Owing to this, it is believed that April can also break the record for the hottest month of the year. The ensuing month of May will also not be comfortable with hot weather.
Meteorologist Dr Sunil Pandey told that the entire Central UP including Kanpur division and adjoining Madhya Pradesh comes under the periphery of the Tropic of Cancer.
For this reason, the intensity and duration of the sun's rays are highest in these areas.
The westerly winds are also not able to reduce the intensity of sunlight.
Northwesterly winds are coming from the Thar desert and hot areas of Rajasthan to the Gangetic plain, which is increasing the heat and temperature of the already warming cities.
