Kanpur: Hazrat Makhdoom Shah's 764th Urs Mubarak began at the Jajmau area here on Sunday. There was a crowd from the Dargah site to the Dargah road, which caused a jam on the Kanpur-Lucknow highway.
However, the diversion was a step toward relief. The police kept the crowd aside and allowed the vehicles to pass so that the passers-by did not have to face much trouble.
Even Jajmau's 150 feet road was kept vacant from vehicles to allow people a hassle-free way. The traffic police even took photos of vehicles for the challan.
The service lane of the highway was closed at the Chungi intersection, and the space was jammed on the highway for some Time. The crowd gathered on the flyover and there was a line of vehicles on both lanes.
The police force of Chakeri, Jajmau, Rail Bazar and Cant police station were present on the spot. They were engaged in passing vehicles from both lanes.
There was a queue on the lane going from Kanpur to Harjinder Nagar and on the lane coming from Kanpur to Old Ganga Bridge. The vehicle was moving slowly on the flyover.
