Kanpur: In order to improve power supply, the KESCo has been installing 500 ampere capacity LT fuse sets. It is essentially for maintaining the uninterrupted electricity supply in the city areas. As many as 600 sets are to be fitted. Old sets with 300 ampere capacity will be changed forthwith.
CSB Ambedkar, department officer, said fuse installation was underway. As the power demand surges in the summer, the consumers will not face power cut after installation of the strong fuse sets.
In the last year of 2018 there had been several cases of fuse burning. A total of 600 fuse sets are to be installed within this month.
The maintenance team of the power department will thus take a sigh of relief after this fuse change.
Previously there had been put up 300 ampere fuse sets under Integrated Power Development Scheme. Owing to increased power demand of 710 megawatt in the last year. Then there was seen burning of the fuse sets on large scale.
As a result the residents had to face utter darkness. For rectifying the faults the shutdown process used one after another. Now, this fuse will bear the load and the consumers will be saved from frequent power disruptions.
