Indonesia keen to accelerate plans to produce electric vehicles

JAKARTA, Jan. 15 (Xinhua) -- Indonesia planned to accelerate plans of producing electric vehicles by harmonizing the existing regulations, lobbying the parliament and issuing a presidential decree in doing so, Indonesian Industry Minister Airlangga Hartarto said here on Tuesday.

London, Jan 15 (AFP) British Prime Minister Theresa May faces crushing defeat in a historic vote in parliament on Tuesday over the Brexit deal she has struck with the European Union, leaving the world's fifth biggest economy in limbo.

India: BEST strike continues for 8th day

Mumbai, Jan 15 (PTI) The BEST bus strike in Mumbai continued for the eighth day on Tuesday as the agitating workers and the management of the civic-run transport undertaking failed to reach an agreement.

Over 32,000 employees of the various workers' unions of the Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport Undertaking (BEST) have been on strike since Tuesday last week and 3200-odd buses in its fleet are off the roads.
