DAMASCUS, Jun 3 (NNN-SANA) – Israeli airstrikes after midnight Monday, killed 12 pro-Iranian militias in Syria’s northern province of Aleppo, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said.
The militias, consisting of Syrian and non-Syrian nationals, have a significant presence in the area surrounding the city of Aleppo, it said.
The attack hit several sites in the countryside of Aleppo, mainly in the town of Hayyan, north-west of Aleppo. Several explosions were heard across the city.

DAMASCUS, Jan. 13 (Xinhua) -- Four people were killed on Saturday as their car slid off a bridge into a heavy rainfall-induced water stream in the northwestern Syrian province of Tartus, the local Sham FM radio reported.
Numerous villages in the province experienced heavy downpours and suffered the subsequent widespread flooding, said the report, citing Provincial Governor Hassan Hassan.
DAMASCUS, Jan. 10 (Xinhua) -- Four children have been killed and eight others wounded by landmine explosions in Syria since the start of the year, a war monitor said Wednesday.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, a Britain-based war monitor, said three children were killed and six wounded by mines in government-held areas, while one was killed and two wounded in areas controlled by the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces in the northeast.
DAMASCUS, Jan. 9 (Xinhua) -- A military bus carrying Syrian soldiers was hit by an explosive device in the desert near the ancient city of Palmyra in Homs Province on Tuesday, killing nine people and wounding 13 others, the Syrian Defense Ministry said.
The ministry specified that the fatalities included eight soldiers and one civilian, attributing the attack to "terrorists."
DAMASCUS, Dec. 28 (Xinhua) -- A fresh Israeli missile attack targeted the outskirts of the Syrian capital of Damascus on Thursday night, triggering a response from the Syrian air defense system, reported the Syrian state-owned TV.
The Syrian army said in a statement that the "Israeli enemy" carried out an aerial attack from the direction of the occupied Syrian Golan Heights, targeting some points in the southern region, without elaborating on the targeted sites.
It added that the Syrian air defense forces intercepted most of them, with losses limited to material damages.
QAMISHLI, Syria (AP) — Turkey intensified its airstrikes against Kurdish groups in Syria and northern Iraq in retaliation for the deaths of 12 Turkish soldiers in Iraq over the weekend.
The Turkish defense ministry said in a statement Monday that it had killed at least 26 militants in the strikes.
DAMASCUS, Dec 22 (NNN-SANA) – A 44-tanker convoy, carrying oil, stolen from Syrian oil fields, departed Syria’s north-eastern al-Hasakah province, for U.S. bases in neighbouring Iraq, yesterday.
According to local sources, the convoy exited the Yarubiya countryside, on the Iraqi-Syrian border, through the unauthorised Mahmoudiya crossing,
The incident came, days after the U.S. forces took 95 tankers of oil and a truckload of grains, from north-eastern Syria on Dec 17.
