US House of Representatives have passed a measure on Wednesday, which will become law, to provide $38 billion defence aid to Israel.

Called U.S.-Israel Security Assistance Authorization Act of 2018, the law cannot be repealed by future US Presidents.

12 Sep 2018; DW: A study commissioned by the German Bishops Conference examined 3,677 cases of abuse allegedly perpetrated by clergy nationwide, German magazine Der Spiegel reported on Wednesday. The universities of Giessen, Heidelberg and Mannheim were involved in the research, which implicated 1,670 priests in sexual abuse spanning from 1946 to 2014.

RAMALLAH, Sept 14 (NNN-Xinhua) -- Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas said that the Palestinian people are still committed to making just peace with Israel.

Abbas made the remarks during a Thursday meeting at his headquarters in Ramallah with the leaders of three main religions, Islam, Christianity and Judaism, in the Palestinian territories.

He stressed on the necessity of making peace with Israel based on international resolutions related to the establishment of a Palestinian state on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.

MOSCOW, September 13. /TASS/. US actions in Syria are leading the world to the brink of an abyss, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova told a news briefing on Thursday.

"We see the current events involving Syria as an attempt by the Americans to test a new mechanism of maintaining their own world supremacy," she said. "Its gist is to create some kind of strike coalition of the leading western powers with the aim to demonstrate force and determination to press for military solutions of problems emerging in this or that part of the world."

WASHINGTON, September 13. /TASS/. The US Treasury is considering the possibility of introducing sanctions against Russian company "Sukhoi", allegedly because its planes may have been used in Syrian chemical attacks, Assistant Secretary for Terrorist Financing Marshall Billingslea stated on Thursday during a session of the US House of Representatives.

The Supreme Court of India has awarded Rs 5 million as a compensation to former ISRO scientist Nambi Narayanan for his unnecessary arrest and harassment by Kerala police.

Narayanan was arrested on November 30, 1994 on allegations of espionage.

Bhim Army chief Chandrashekhar alias Ravan has been released from Saharanpur jail after Uttar Pradesh government revoked the National Security (NSA) against him.

Release was ordered after considering a representation submitted by his mother, but Chandrashekhar thinks the real reason of his released is because UP government is “scared”. The Dalit leader, however, expects the government to “frame some charges against” him.

Jammu: Two Kashmiri separatist were killed by Indian security forces in Reasi district of J&K. Five CRPF jawans and three policemen were injured.

It is alleged that the two Kashmiris belonged to JeM, which calls for Kashmir’s independence from India.

Security forces, comprising CRPF, police and Army personnel, were on a search operation near a house in the district's Kakriyal area.

Myanmar is facing international pressure over atrocities allegedly committed by its military in the crackdown that followed August 2017 attacks by Rohingya militants on security forces. The army is accused of committing mass rape, killings and setting fire to thousands of homes.
