ABBA to release five new songs, to go on tour in 2021

Los Angeles, Jul 23 (PTI) Iconic pop band ABBA will release five brand new tracks next year followed by a holographic tour.

The group, formed in Sweden in 1972, have sold over 400 million albums in their career with includes all-time hits such as "Mamma Mia", "Dancing Queen", "Chiquitita" and "Super Trooper" among others.

In 2018, the Swedish quartet, comprising Bjorn Ulvaeus, Agnetha Faltskog, Benny Andersson, and Anni-Frid Lyngstad, announced they will put out new material after 35 years.

India: Sholay's 'Soorma Bhopali' Jagdeep dies at 81

Mumbai, Jul 9 (PTI) Veteran actor Jagdeep, whose paan-stained grin and mischievous eyes as Soorma Bhopali in Sholay made him popular across generations, died on Wednesday at his residence. He was 81.

The actor had not been keeping well, producer Mehmood Ali, a family friend, told PTI.

"He passed away at 8.30 pm at his residence in Bandra. He was not keeping well because of age related issues," Ali said.

Jagdeep will be laid to rest at a cemetery in south Mumbai around 11.30 am on Thursday, he added.

S.Korea’s ‘Parasite’ sweeps four Oscars, makes history

SEOUL, Feb 10 (NNN-YONHAP) — Bong Joon-ho’s sensational black comedy “Parasite” has bagged four Oscar titles, including best picture and best director, to become the first non-English language film to achieve such a feat.

At the 92nd Academy Awards held at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on Sunday (U.S. local time), Bong’s seventh feature film, a tale of class division, won the ceremony’s highest prize — best film.

It outclassed “The Irishman,” “Jojo Rabbit,” “Ford v Ferrari,” “Little Women,” “Joker,” “Marriage Story,” “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” and “1917.”

New AMC drama follows Japanese American internment horror

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) — The second season of an AMC-TV drama series follows the internment of Japanese Americans during World War II and a number of bizarre deaths haunting a community.

“The Terror: Infamy” is set to premiere Monday and stars Derek Mio and original “Star Trek” cast member George Takei as they navigate the forced internment and supernatural spirits that surround them.

Nicki Minaj pulls out of Saudi Arabia concert

Nicki Minaj has decided to pull out of Jeddah World Fest, a concert in Saudi Arabia, to show support for freedom of expression. Minaj was originally scheduled to headline the concert on July 18 in Jeddah.

“After careful reflection I have decided to no longer move forward with my scheduled concert at Jeddah World Fest.”, said Minaj.

Other performers in Jeddah World Fest include former One Direction member Liam Payne and DJ-producer Steve Aoki.

India: Zaira Wasim announces 'disassociation' from films

Srinagar, Jun 30 (PTI) National Award-winning actor Zaira Wasim on Sunday announced her "disassociation" from the field of acting, saying she was not happy with the line of work as it interfered with her faith and religion.

In a detailed post on her Facebook page, which she later shared across all social media platforms, the Kashmiri-born "Dangal" fame star said she realised "though I may fit here perfectly, I do not belong here".

Heavy rains, floods kill at least 3, destroy scores of houses in N. Afghanistan

FAIZABAD, Afghanistan, June 9 (Xinhua) -- At least three persons have been killed and scores of houses have been washed away due to downpour and floods in Afghanistan's northern Badakhshan province over the past 24 hours, the provincial head of Natural Disaster Management Authority said Sunday.

According to Sayed Abdullah Hamayon Dehqanzada, the heavy shower and floods hit parts of Kasham, Argo, Shahr-e-Bazarg and Tishkan districts and preliminary reports have confirmed the death of three persons.
