Kanpur: 40-year-old income tax assistant Ajay Kumar was found dead in dubious circumastances in his house at Officer's colony in Laxman Bagh here. His dead body was lying there for the past about five days. His house was closed.
Police said his family members were informed of his death. They were expected to arrive sooner.
According to the reports he belonged to Ranchi. He had been transferred here from Chennai two years back. The neighbors informed of his death as stinks enveloped the surrounding. His clotheless body was lying on the wooden takht.
It was learnt through his colleagues that he was posted as assistant in the Benami section of the IT department. They also disclosed his depression used to take him into unnecessary arguments. He left coming to the office since September 2018. That stopped his salary.
The inspector, Swarup Nagar police station, Satish Sahu said that forensic team had conducted initial probe. Murder theory did not stand.
