India: 'Cinema changes in every three years'

Kanpur: Cinema changes after every three years. Young directors are getting chance to prove their talents too early, said Amar Kaushik, a film director whose roots lie in the city. He was in the city recently. He further added that he wanted to make a film imbibing Kanpuria character.

Born & bred at Tejab Colony he received his education at DAV College here. He was too impressed with young talents of his student's days. A lot of things he learnt from them.

During his college days he learnt a lot from the workshop of a Bollywood star Sunil Sinha. He became so inspired from his abilities that he decided to try his luck in the film direction. And the result was that his directed film Street brought enough name and fame to him. The viewers appreciated his direction and he was supposed to bring Stree-2 by the year 2020.

Making his points clear he maintained that the item number was not essential in every film. When there is requirement of the song it should be included.

On quality of the films he added that three traits viz., message, art and entertainment were needed essentially. If any factor was lacking the viewers remained unsatisfied. His interest lies in small films. His appreciation was immense for directors like Ram Gopal Verma.
