Kanpur: Fitted with censor and cellular communication one gadget named as Padmavati water quality has been placed into the zoo lake for monitoring the quality of the water. It is efficient enough to forward the data in half an hour.
The mechanical, electrical, aerospace departments and a team of the research students of Kanpur IIT has developed this tool for examining the water quality of Ganga river. It provides accurate information about the Oh, TDs, DO, soil content, electric conductivity, and arsenic elements in the water. Collected details are being available on the computer through telemetry.
Running with the solar energy this special gadget was fitted into the zoo lake on June 17. It has been working in proper way. Five sensors are sending data properly.
The Allen Forest Zoo director KK Singh told that this tool was quite helpful in checking the quality of lake water. This will help proper maintenance of the lake finding 55 crocodiles, and 20 tortoises in it.
