ISTANBUL, Jan 29 (NNN-ANADOLU) – The Turkish Foreign Ministry, said that, the peace plan announced by U.S. President, Donald Trump, to end the conflict between Israel and Palestine, is “stillborn.”
“This plan is an annexation plan, aiming to destroy the two-state solution and seize Palestinian territories,” the ministry said, in a statement.
“Palestinian people and the land of Palestine cannot be bought off,” it added.
Earlier in the day, Trump revealed details of his Middle East peace plan, dubbed as the Deal of the Century, at the White House, along with visiting Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Trump said, the plan recognises Jerusalem as Israel’s “undivided capital.”
Jerusalem is Turkey’s red line, the Turkish ministry noted, saying, Ankara would not support any plan that does not have the support of Palestine.
“Turkey would not allow any step seeking to legitimise Israel’s occupation and atrocities,” the ministry said. “There will not be any peace in the Middle East without ending Israel’s occupation policies.”
