India: Jajmau looks distinct from what it was forty years ago

Kanpur: Jajmau is today wholly different from what it used to be about forty years ago. Quite strange it looks how the barren, desolate place has turned out to be an area with all the modern-day conveniences.

Talking to a few residents of the area, it was learnt that even salt was not available forty years ago in this tannery town.

Not only this factual point there was no shop, nor even a Gumti. It appears exclusively startling.

Recalling her childhood days one lady from this area disclosed that it was too difficult to trace a small shop on one side of the road leading towards the Mazar area. She told me there was a shop beside the Bima hospital here. It was at this place there was a small traditional shop where the salt was available.

"It surprises me today as the malls have opened at Jajmau. The change has taken place in my lifetime. So, I feel amazed", said the dazed lady.

Breathing some fresh air she further lets out it is new Jajmau completely changed from old Jajmau.
