India: Voice raised over fee on morning walkers at Nana Rao Park in Kanpur

Kanpur: There has been a protest against the decision of the Municipal Corporation to collect tax from the morning walkers at Nana Rao Park in Phoolbagh here.

On Monday, a decision was taken by the municipal executive body to pay fees to those visiting Nana Rao Park.

It was decided to charge free children up to the age of 5 years, Rs 5 for children from 6 to 12 years and Rs 10 for people above.

The fee will be charged from September 1. One month's pass will be made for Rs 250. The morning walkers will also have to pay a fee. Informs Mayor Pramila Pandey.

Both the SP and Congress have announced to protest against the decision on the road. The Councillors protested the tax.

Samajwadi Party's Aryanagar MLA Amitabh Bajpai l said that this decision was wrong. Now the tax is being charged even for breathing in the open air and going for a walk.

This anti-people resolution was passed even after the opposition of the SP due to the arrogance of the executive committee in the House.

He categorically said that this decision will have to be withdrawn at any cost.

Congress Party's state secretary Vikas Awasthi has also said that he will fight by taking this anti-people issue to the state high command.

He added that the people are upset due to the anti-people decisions of the BJP.

Taxes are being imposed on the common people burdened with inflation and compelled to pay for breathing in the open air.
