TUNIS, Oct 2 (NNN-TAP) — Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians Abroad Othman Jerandi said Tunisia is fully ready to host the Summit of the Francophonie and it will bring together all the means, logistical materials and content to ensure the success of this event.
He expressed the hope that the Tunisia Summit, which coincides with the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Francophonie, would be a turning point for Francophone cooperation.
Jerandi, on Friday, received a delegation of the International Organisation of La Francophonie (OIF) composed of the special adviser to the secretary general of the organisation in charge of political and diplomatic affairs Désiré Nyaruhirira, the adviser Strategy and Bodies Vanessa Lamothe, representative of the OIF for North Africa (Tunis office) Hawa Assil and head of strategic communication Fatima Aouidat.
Members of the delegation, who visited Tunisia from Sept 28 to 30, welcomed Tunisia’s in anticipation of the summit of the Francophonie to be held in Djerba on Nov 19 and 20.
They commended the permanent coordination established between the two parties to ensure the success of this major event.
A working session was held after the meeting. It focused on the agenda of the summit and the documents that will be issued.
The meeting also discussed the cultural and economic events that will be organized on the sidelines of the Summit such as the Francophonie village (Nov 13-22) and the Economic Forum of the Francophonie (Nov 20-21).
