LA PAZ, June 2 (Xinhua) -- Bolivian President Luis Arce appointed new health and mining ministers Friday, urging them to "step on the accelerator" to meet planned goals.
Replacing Jeyson Auza Pinto as the new Minister of Health and Sports, Maria Renee Castro served as Deputy Minister of Promotion, Epidemiological Surveillance and Traditional Medicine and director of the National Institute of Health Laboratories.
Before succeeding Ramiro Felix Villavicencio as the new Minister of Mining and Metallurgy, Marcelino Quispe Lopez was president of the Bolivian Mining Corporation and manager of the Huanuni Mining Company.
"Today we face new challenges and new commitments to the population," Arce said at the ceremony to swear in the two new ministers in La Paz, adding that "the new team's objective is to invigorate and oxygenate us."
