Palestine PM says Israel steals 600m cubic meters of Palestinian groundwater

28 Nov 2022; MEMO: The Palestinian Prime Minister, Mohammed Shtayyeh, accused, on Sunday, Israel of stealing 600 million cubic meters of Palestine's 800 million cubic meters and diverting it into its cities and settlements.

Shtayyeh made the remarks at the Fourth Arab Water Conference organised by the State of Palestine under the title "Arab Water Security for Life, Development and Peace".

29 Nov 2022; MEMO: After years of tension, a handshake between Turkish President, Tayyip Erdogan, and Egypt's President, Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, last week opened the door to a flurry of back-door diplomacy between intelligence officials, two sources told Reuters.

Intelligence delegations from the two sides met in Egypt at the weekend, said a regional source with knowledge of the matter who spoke on condition of anonymity, Reuters reports.

US profiting from war in Ukraine: EU officials

Tehran, IRNA - European officials say Washington is making a fortune from the war in Ukraine by selling more gas and weapons to Europe at exorbitant prices, according to a report in the US political news website Politico.

“The fact is, if you look at it soberly, the country that is most profiting from this war is the US because they are selling more gas and at higher prices, and because they are selling more weapons,” one senior European official was quoted as saying by Politico on Friday.

Israel control over Occupied West Bank Area C costs Palestinians $2.5bn annually: UN

23 Nov 2022; MEMO: Restrictions imposed by Israeli Occupation authorities on Palestinian development in Area C of the Occupied West Bank cost the Palestinian economy an estimated $50 billion between 2000 and 2020, the United Nations (UN) said in a report yesterday.

The UN found that the extra restrictions in Area C, which accounts for about 61 per cent of the Occupied West Bank, had cost $2.5 billion per year.

UAE, India bilateral trade to surpass $88bn this year

23 Nov 2022; MEMO: Bilateral trade between the UAE and India is set to surpass $88 billion in the 2022-2023 fiscal year, up from last year's fiscal figures of $73 billion. The development follows the signing of a landmark free trade deal between the two countries during a two-day visit by UAE Foreign Minister, Abdullah bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, where he met External Affairs Minister, S Jaishankar.

In a statement, US Ambassador to Yemen, Stephen Fagin, said he had concluded a one-day visit to the interim capital, Aden, and met with the head of the internationally backed government, Maeen Abdul Malik Saeed, and other government officials.
