Kanpur: As many as 16 trains have been cancelled or diverted as the single line section will be blocked for the movement of trains till September 28.

Giving information about this news, Deepak Kumar, Chief Information Officer, Northern Railways, said several trains have been cancelled given the blockage.

Operations of 16 trains will be stopped. Apart from this, several trains including the Lucknow LTT Special will run on diverted routes during this period.

NEW DELHI, Sept. 21 (Xinhua) -- The Indian government on Tuesday described the British government's decision not to recognize Covishield as a legitimate anti-COVID-19 vaccine as "discriminatory" and warned of reciprocal measures if the matter was not resolved.

India's Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla said during a media briefing that the country supplied 5 million Covishield doses to Britain at the request of the British government, describing the non-recognition of the vaccine as a "discriminating policy."

Mumbai, Sep 21 (PTI) The Bombay High Court refused to discharge a 32-year-old man from a rape and cheating case noting that he had used astrological incompatibility of horoscopes as an excuse to resile from his promise to marry the complainant woman with whom he was in a relationship.

A single bench of Justice S K Shinde on Monday rejected an application filed by Avishek Mitra seeking to be discharged from the cheating and rape case registered against him by the suburban Borivali police on a complaint lodged by the woman.

Mumbai, Sep 21 (PTI) Retail depositors are earning negative returns on their bank deposits and hence, there is a need for reviewing taxes on interest earned, economists at the country's largest lender SBI have said.

If not for all the depositors, the taxation review should be carried out for at least the deposits made by senior citizens who depend on the interest for their daily needs, the economists led by Soumya Kanti Ghosh said in a note, which pegged the overall retail deposits in the system at Rs 102 lakh crore.

New Delhi, Sep 21 (PTI) Union minister Nitin Gadkari has said that Chinese companies have not made investments in highway projects in India in recent times.

Amid the border standoff with China, Gadkari, in July 2020, had said that India will not allow Chinese companies to participate in highway projects, including those through joint ventures.

To a query by PTI on whether Chinese companies have invested in India's highway projects in the recent times, Gadkari replied in the negative.

However, he did not elaborate on the issue.

Patna, Sep 20 (PTI) A court here has directed the police to lodge an FIR against RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav, his MP sister Misa Bharti and some other political figures on the complaint of a person who has alleged he was duped of Rs five crore with the promise of a Lok Sabha ticket in the 2019 general elections.

Chief Judicial Magistrate, Patna, Vijay Kishore Singh passed the order on September 16 on the petition of Sanjiv Kumar Singh, who claimed he was associated with the Congress and was an aspirant for a party ticket for the Bhagalpur seat.
