USA: Security guard jailed in deadly shooting at Denver protests

DENVER (AP) — A private security guard working for a Denver TV station is behind bars and accused in the deadly shooting of another man during dueling right- and left-wing protests, police said Sunday.

Matthew Dolloff, 30, was booked into jail for investigation of first-degree murder following the clash Saturday afternoon in Civic Center Park.

Authorities have not identified the man killed, but his son told the Denver Post it was his father, Lee Keltner, a 49-year-old U.S. Navy veteran who operated a hat-making business in the Denver area.

Together with South Korea and the tiny Pacific island of Nauru, China joined the COVAX Facility this week, bringing the total number of participating nations and economies to 171, WHO Director General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus announced Friday during his regular media briefing in Geneva on the pandemic.

Hurricane Delta Leaves Half A Million In U.S. Louisiana Without Power

HOUSTON, Oct 11 (NNN-AGENCIES) – Nearly half a million people in the U.S. state of Louisiana were out of power yesterday, due to the impact of Hurricane Delta, which made landfall Friday evening on the Gulf Coast.

Local media quoted Entergy and DEMCO, the two largest energy providers in the state of Louisiana, as saying that, more than 450,000 outages state-wide were reported.

According to the report, Baton Rouge, the state capital of Louisiana, had the most outages with 64,000 Entergy customers and 36,000 DEMCO customers in the dark.

2 charged in Michigan plots served in US Marines

DETROIT (AP) — The U.S. Marine Corps confirmed Saturday that two men charged in plots against Michigan’s government spent time in the military.

Officials are “aware of the circumstances surrounding” Daniel Harris and Joseph Morrison and will assist in any way in the investigation, the Marine Corps said in an emailed statement.

USA: 28 arrested, tear gas used in Wisconsin protests

WAUWATOSA, Wis. (AP) — Police used tear gas on demonstrators and arrested 28 people during a third straight night of protests over the lack of charges against a suburban Milwaukee police officer who fatally shot a Black teen, authorities said, as they took to Twitter on Saturday to outline what they called an “escalation in force by the protesters.”

About 100 people gathered outside City Hall on Friday past Wauwatosa’s 7 p.m. curfew and refused multiple orders to disperse, according to police. Police said they used tear gas on the crowd, after bottles were thrown at officers.
