Washington, Jun 27 (PTI) US President Donald Trump is Incredibly grateful for the "widespread support" he has received from the people of India and Indian-Americans, the White House has said in response to a survey suggesting that over 50 per cent of the community members in some key battleground American states are switching over to him in the presidential election in November.

False US reports about Russia in Afghanistan led to threats against diplomats — embassy

WASHINGTON, June 27. /TASS/: False information about Russia and Afghanistan, published by the US media, has already led to direct threats against Russian diplomats, the Russian Embassy in Washington said on Saturday.

"Baseless and anonymous accusations [published by nytimes] of Moscow as mastermind behind killing of U.S. soldiers in Afghanistan have already led to direct threats to the life of employees of the Russian Embassies in Washington D.C. and London," the embassy said in a Twitter post.

USA: SpaceX postpones launch of Starlink satellites indefinitely

NEW YORK, June 27. /TASS/: US company SpaceX has postponed for an indefinite date the launch of its Falcon 9 rocket with the ninth group of Starlink satellites, the company said in a Twitter post on Friday.

"Standing down from today’s Starlink mission; team needed additional time for pre-launch checkouts, but Falcon 9 and the satellites are healthy," the company said. "Will announce new target launch date once confirmed on the Range."

Earlier, the launch was postponed twice. The latest launch date was 16:18 EDT (23:18 Moscow time).

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Attorney General William Barr on Friday ordered the establishment of a task force to counter what he called “anti-government extremists” committing violence as protests against police brutality convulse the United States.

In a memo to law enforcement and prosecutors released by the Department of Justice, Barr said alleged extremists had “engaged in indefensible acts of violence designed to undermine public order,” including attacking police officers, damaging property and threatening innocent people.

US says considering new taxes on $3.1 bn in European products

China firmly opposes U.S. visa restrictions over Hong Kong-related issues: embassy

WASHINGTON, June 26 (Xinhua) -- The Chinese embassy in the United States said on Friday that China firmly opposes the U.S. wrongful decision to impose visa restrictions on Chinese officials over Hong Kong-related issues, urging Washington to stop interfering in China's internal affairs.

Hong Kong is part of China, and Hong Kong affairs are China's internal affairs that allow no external interference, a spokesperson of the Chinese embassy said in a statement.
