Imran Khan's reference to Kashmir regrettable: MEA

New Delhi, Nov 28 (PTI): India on Wednesday termed Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan's reference to Kashmir during the ground breaking ceremony of the Kartarpur corridor "deeply regrettable" and said he chose to politicise a pious moment.

The Ministry of External Affairs said Jammu and Kashmir was an "integral and inalienable" part of India.

KESCO warns Jal Nigam

KANPUR: The city residents could reel under the water crisis if the Jal Nigam failed to deposit the power dues sooner.

In a strict notice issued to the Jal Nigam, the Kanpur Electricity Supply Co warned that if electricity bill, amounting to Rs 55.76 crore, was not deposited, the power supply to all 61 zonal pumping stations would be disconnected.

India: 9-yr-old boy sodomised in UP

Muzaffarnagar, Nov 27 (PTI) A nine-year-old boy was allegedly sodomised and threatened by a man at Pinna village of the district here, police said Tuesday.

Praveen Kumar (20), who is absconding, had threatened the victim of dire consequences if he told anyone about it, they said.

The station house officer (SHO) of Kotwali Police Station Anil Kumar said a case was registered against the accused after a complaint was lodged by the victim's father.

India: AAP minister Satyendar Jain acquitted in case of rioting

New Delhi, Nov 27 (PTI) A court on Tuesday acquitted Delhi's Health Minister Satyendar Jain in an alleged case of rioting in Paschim Vihar area here before the 2013 Delhi assembly election.

Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Samar Vishal granted the relief to Jain and four AAP volunteers, noting that the witnesses cited by the prosecution failed to identify Jain, his advocate Mohd Irshad said.

India: Man gets life term for sodomising minor boy

Raipur, Nov 27 (PTI) A special court in Durg district of Chhattisgarh has sentenced a man to life imprisonment for sodomising a 12-year-old boy last year.

Special Judge under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, Subhra Pachouri, held Monu Yadav (21) guilty under Section 377 (unnatural sex) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and provisions of the POCSO Act on Monday, Additional Public Prosecutor Kamal Kishore Verma told PTI.

India: 'Ram Rajya' in UP jails: Akhilesh

Lucknow, Nov 27 (PTI) Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav said Tuesday there was literally "Ram Rajya" in the state jails, a day after a video showing inmates having alcohol went viral on social media.

"As the CM (Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath) has become a star campaigner of his party in other states, 'Ram Rajya' has come in UP jails. He intends to bring such 'Ram Rajya' in the state, in which all the facilities are available to inmates inside jails. This is the biggest example of 'sabka saath sabka vikas!" Akhilesh said.

Thane (Maha), Nov27 (PTI) Two brothers allegedly beat their father to death over a domestic issue at Kharivali village in neighbouring Palghar district of Maharashtra, police said on Tuesday.

District rural police said the accused- Deepak Kaluram Jadhav and his brother Nilesh, both in their 20s- were arrested for the incident that took place on Monday night.

6 IAS officers of Delhi govt transferred

New Delhi, Nov 27 (PTI) In a bureaucratic reshuffle, Lt Governor Anil Baijal Tuesday transferred and posted six senior IAS officers of the Delhi government, including Additional Chief Secretary (PWD) Manoj Parida, with immediate effect.

On the day, newly-appointed Chief Secretary Vijay Kumar Dev, a 1987-batch IAS officer, assumed the charge of his office, superseding the 1986-batch IAS officer, Manoj Parida.

India: Absconding rape accused held in Jammu

Jammu, Nov 27 (PTI) An absconder, facing rape charges, was arrested here on Tuesday after a year-long hunt, police said.

The accused Nitish Kumar, a resident of Mahore, was hiding in a house near Ballini bridge in Nagrota and was apprehended by a special police team from Reasi district, a police spokesman said.

He said Kumar was evading arrest for the last one year and had been changing his locations which made it difficult for the police team to nab him.
