Kashmir: Indian soldiers killed in clashes with militants

18 Feb 2019; DW: A gunbattle with militants in disputed Kashmir has left four Indian troops dead. It comes just days after the worst attack on government forces in the region's history, to which India promised a "jaw-dropping" response.

At least four Indian soldiers were killed in a shootout with rebels in India-administered Kashmir on Monday.

Saudi Arabia signs 20-bln-USD deals with Pakistan

RIYADH, Feb. 17 (Xinhua) -- Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud on Sunday signed with Pakistan eight agreements worth 20 billion U.S. dollars, Al Arabiya TV reported.

One of the agreements is about Saudi Arabia's Aramco-run refinery in the Pakistani port of Gwadar, one of the world's largest refineries, at a value of 10 billion U.S. dollars.

"Pakistan is a dear country to the Saudi people and we will be partners as we have always been," Al Arabiya quoted the Saudi crown prince as saying.

Omar Abdullah lashes the mobs for violence against Kashmiris

National Conference vice-president and former Chief Minister of J&K Omar Abdullah questioned attacks on innocent Kashmiris studying and living outside Kashmir valley.  His remarks came following reports of attacks on Kashmiris in Jammu and harassment of Kashmiri students at places outside the State.

He said that by attacking Kashmiris, they were being told that there is no place for them outside the Valley and no future in the mainland.

Pakistan Army, FM websites hacked, cyber attack originated from India

Official website of Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry and the Army were hacked on Saturday night and were inaccessible for users outside the country.

“The owner of this website (www.pakistanarmy.gov.pk) has banned the country or region your IP address is in (IN) from accessing this website,” the message on the site read when trying to access the site.

The cyber attack is believed to have originated from India, Dawn quoted officials as saying.

Pakistani, Turkish navies hold joint drill

ISLAMABAD, 17 Feb 2019; AA: Pakistani and Turkish naval forces conducted joint exercises in the Arabian Sea, officials said.

A frigate from the Turkish Navy, TCG Gokceada, and Pakistan Navy ships Alamgir and ASLAT, and a long range maritime patrol aircraft participated in the Turgutreis III exercises.

"The main objective of the exercise was to enhance inter-operability between two brotherly navies," Pakistan Navy said in a statement.

Ambala village panchayat asks villagers to evict Kashmiri tenants

Ambala, Feb 16; PTI/GANASHAKTI:  A village panchayat here has asked villagers to evict Kashmiri students living in rented accommodation within 24 hours in the wake of the Pulwama terror attack, according to a video that has surfaced on social media.

Half a dozen Kashmiri students have been shifted to the hostel of the MM University after the purported video appeared.

In the video, Mulana village sarpanch Naresh Rana could be heard asking villagers to evict Kashmiri tenants.

Tarigami calls for dialogue to address 'legitimate concerns' of Kashmiri people

Srinagar, Feb 16; PTI/GANASHAKTI: CPI(M) leader M Y Tarigami Saturday called for a meaningful and credible dialogue process for addressing the "legitimate concerns" of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

Tarigami, a former MLA from Kulgam constituency of south Kashmir, said the attack on a CRPF convoy at Lethpora in Pulwama on Thursday has shaken all those who are concerned about human lives and peace in the region.
