UAE: Iran's Khamenei says Tehran was not behind Hamas attack on Israel

DUBAI, Oct 10 (Reuters) - Tehran was not involved in the militant Hamas group's weekend attack on Israel, Iran's top authority Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said on Tuesday, but hailed what he called Israel's "irreparable" military and intelligence defeat.

"We kiss the hands of those who planned the attack on the Zionist regime," said Khamenei, who was wearing a Palestinian scarf, in his first televised speech since the attack.

Palestine: 4 Israeli captives in Gaza killed in air raids: Hamas armed wing

GAZA, Oct. 9 (Xinhua) -- Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), said on Monday that four Israeli captives in Gaza have been killed in Israeli air raids.

Abu Obida, the spokesperson of the armed group, said in a brief statement that the bombardment of Israeli aircraft overnight and during the day in the Gaza Strip led to the killing of four enemy captives and their captors from the armed wing.

UN secures deal on disputed road project in Cyprus

NICOSIA, Oct. 9 (Xinhua) -- The United Nations (UN) Peacekeeping Force in Cyprus (UNFICYP) said on Monday that an understanding had been reached on the construction of a road that prompted a confrontation between Turkish military personnel and UN peacekeepers in August.

The incident took place inside the buffer zone near Pyla (Pile in Turkish), a village near the southeastern coast of Cyprus inhabited by both Greek and Turkish Cypriots.
