Rescuers may soon try to remove a sick American researcher from 3,000 feet down in a Turkish cave

TASELI PLATEAU, Turkey (AP) — Rescue crews were waiting for doctors to give the go-ahead Friday for an operation to move out an American researcher who fell ill almost 1,000 meters (more than 3,000 feet) below the entrance of a cave in Turkey, officials said. The effort could last up to 10 days.

Cyprus: 4 Israeli men in custody for raping British woman

05 September 2023; MEMO: A group of Israeli men has been taken into custody in Cyprus following allegations of gang-rape made by a 20-year-old British woman who was on vacation in Ayia Napa.

The five Israeli men, aged 19 and 20, have been placed in detention for an additional eight days, as ordered by a district court magistrate in Famagusta following their arrest on Sunday night.

Saudi Envoy arrives in Tehran

Saudi Arabia extends voluntary oil cuts to year end

07 September 2023; MEMO: Saudi Arabia will extend its voluntary oil production cut of one million barrels per day (bpd) until the end of the year, the kingdom’s energy ministry announced yesterday.

The ministry said in a statement that oil production from October to December will be approximately nine million (bpd).

Israel: Foreign investment declines 60%

Palestinian, Israeli soldier wounded in clashes in West Bank's Bethlehem

RAMALLAH, Sept. 7 (Xinhua) -- At least one Palestinian and an Israeli soldier were wounded on Thursday during clashes that erupted in the central West Bank city of Bethlehem, Palestinian and Israeli sources said.

Palestinian medical sources told Xinhua that the Israeli army transferred "a young Palestinian man with a foot injury" to a local hospital for treatment after clashes in Bethlehem.
