Israel to use Palestinian land seized in 1984 for illegal settlement outpost

23 Nov 2022; MEMO: The Israeli Civil Administration issued permission on Wednesday for 80 acres of Palestinian land in the central occupied West Bank seized in 1984 to be annexed to the illegal Tal Shahrit settlement outpost, the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission has revealed. The administration has declared the area to be "state land" in a move which effectively grants legal recognition to the outpost by the occupation state.

Israeli soldier shoots dead 16-year-old Palestinian child in Occupied West Bank

23 Nov 2022; MEMO: A 16-year-old Palestinian child was shot and killed by an Israeli soldier last night, in the Occupied West Bank city of Nablus, reported Wafa news agency.

According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health, Ahmed Shehada was killed following an Israeli military raid that resulted in him being shot in the heart.

Israel control over Occupied West Bank Area C costs Palestinians $2.5bn annually: UN

23 Nov 2022; MEMO: Restrictions imposed by Israeli Occupation authorities on Palestinian development in Area C of the Occupied West Bank cost the Palestinian economy an estimated $50 billion between 2000 and 2020, the United Nations (UN) said in a report yesterday.

The UN found that the extra restrictions in Area C, which accounts for about 61 per cent of the Occupied West Bank, had cost $2.5 billion per year.

Sudan Army Chief says he will accept any non-partisan government

23 Nov 2022; MEMO: Sudan's Army Chief, Gen. Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, said Wednesday that the military will accept any non-partisan government that maintains the country's unity, Anadolu News Agency reports.

"Any formula that ensures Sudan's unity and preserves the dignity of the disciplined forces … and that brings a non-partisan government of independents approved by political forces will be acceptable by the Armed Forces," Al-Burhan told a meeting of army commanders.

EU delegation - 'appalled' by Israel's demolition of primary school in Occupied Palestine

23 Nov 2022; MEMO: The European Union Delegation to the Palestinians said Wednesday it was "appalled" after Israeli forces destroyed a primary school in the Masafer Yatta in the Occupied West Bank, Anadolu News Agency reports.

"Appalled by news that ISF demolished the donor funded Sfai School in Masafer Yatta in Occupied Palestinian Territory, one day after a diplomatic visit by several EU member States," it said.

50 injured in Türkiye's earthquake

ANKARA, Nov. 23 (Xinhua) -- At least 50 people were injured after a magnitude 5.9 earthquake struck Türkiye's northwestern province of Duzce early Wednesday.

The injured were treated in hospitals in Duzce and nearby regions, some sustained injuries, Interior Minister Suleyman Soylu told the Turkish television channel NTV, adding that one person was seriously hurt after jumping from a balcony out of panic.

Türkiye to establish security zone in N. Syria: Erdogan

ANKARA, Nov. 23 (Xinhua) -- Türkiye will launch a ground operation into northern Syria "at the most convenient time" to build a security strip, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said Wednesday.

"Our determination to secure all our southern borders - from (provinces of) Hatay to Hakkari - with a security strip is stronger today than ever before. We have already formed part of this strip with cross-border operations," Erdogan told lawmakers at the parliament.
