Turkish companies eye vast business opportunities at China's import expo

IZMIR/ISTANBUL, Türkiye, Nov. 8 (Xinhua) -- Turkish companies view the on-going 5th China International Import Expo (CIIE) as a premium platform to seek business opportunities and further tap into the vast consumer market of China and beyond.

The expo has become a major platform for global businesses including Turkish companies to explore market opportunities and expand business in China, Mehmet Ali Isik, chairman of the Aegean Dried Fruits and Products Exporters Association, told Xinhua in a recent interview.

AU calls for pragmatic interventions to inject dynamism to Africa's industrialization

The AU commissioner made the remarks at the joint meeting of African ministers in charge of industry and economic diversification that was held in Niger's capital, Niamey on Monday, an AU statement indicated.

Iraq Officials: US aid worker shot dead in Baghdad in rare attack

BAGHDAD (AP) — Assailants fatally shot an American aid worker Monday in a rare killing of a foreigner in the Iraqi capital in recent years, two police officials said.

The man was shot in his car as he entered the street where he lives in Baghdad’s central Karrada district on the east bank of the Tigris River but the reason for the killing was not immediately clear, they said. They said the man’s wife and child were in the car with him but were not hurt.
