Palestine faces pressure to resume security coordination with Israel: official

RAMALLAH, Feb. 4 (Xinhua) -- Palestinian officials are facing international pressure to resume security coordination with Israel, which has been severed in response to Israeli aggression in the West Bank.

However, "the Palestinian leadership is steadfast in its position, and there is no turning back from its clear stance that supports the Palestinian situation," Sabri Seidam, deputy chairman of the central committee of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas's Fatah movement, told "Voice of Palestine" on Saturday.

Palestinian killed by Israeli soldiers near West Bank village

RAMALLAH, Feb. 3 (Xinhua) -- A Palestinian young man was killed on Friday by Israeli soldiers near the village of Huwara south of the West Bank city of Nablus, the Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) said.

Abdulla Qalalweh, 24, died after being shot by Israeli soldiers at an army checkpoint near the village, the PRCS said in a press statement.

Meanwhile, Israeli media reported that a Palestinian driving a car approached the checkpoint, got out of his car, and tried to grab the weapon of a soldier before he was shot dead by other soldiers.

Palestine: Israeli army besieges homes of fugitives in West Bank raid

AQABAT JABR REFUGEE CAMP, West Bank (AP) — The Israeli army raided a refugee camp near the Palestinian city of Jericho on Saturday, besieging houses it said were being used as hideouts for Palestinian attackers and shooting at residents who opened fire. The fighting wounded six Palestinians, two seriously, said the Palestinian Health Ministry, and jolted a generally quiet oasis town that has seen less violence than other West Bank cities.

Israel seizes 123 acres of Palestine land to expand settler-only road

03 Feb 2023; MEMO: The Israeli Occupation authorities decided to seize 500 dunams (123.6 acres) of land from the villages of Jaba and Hizma, located north-east of Occupied Jerusalem, to expand a bypass road used by settlers.

According to a Wafa news agency correspondent, the Israeli authorities have informed the two villages of its plan to seize lands for the main north-south highway in the Occupied West Bank, which is used by Palestinians and Jewish settlers, known as Highway 60.

In a press release Hamas described the settlers' attack on the church as a "fascist and racist demeanour that contradicts international law and religious values."

Palestinian PM Says Israel’s Unilateral Measures Could Bring Catastrophe To Region

RAMALLAH, Feb 2 (NNN-WAFA) – Palestinian Prime Minister, Mohammed Ishtaye, yesterday, warned that, the unilateral measures of the Israeli government against the Palestinians, would be “catastrophic” for the region.

An official statement said that, Ishtaye made the warning during a meeting held in the West Bank city of Ramallah, with head of the German Social Democratic Party, Lars Klingbeil.
