India: Farmers' protest: More routes connecting UP-Delhi closed

New Delhi, Dec 3 (PTI) Police on Thursday closed routes on two national highways connecting Ghaziabad to Delhi as farmers remained unyielding on their demand for scrapping the new farm laws and stayed put at the national capital's borders with Haryana and Uttar Pradesh.

The protesting farmers had on Wednesday threatened to block other roads of Delhi if their demands were not met.

The local police has closed the routes on NH-9 and NH-24 from Ghaziabad to Delhi. On NH-1, both sides of the route have been closed near Shani Mandir, the Delhi Traffic Police tweeted.

Indian Union ministers meet farmers' groups to break deadlock

New Delhi, Dec 3 (PTI) Farmers' groups met three Union ministers on Thursday for fourth round of talks amid an ongoing protest seeking repeal of the new farm laws.

Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar, Railways, Commerce and Food Minister Piyush Goyal and Minister of State for Commerce Som Parkash, who is an MP from Punjab, are holding talks with the representatives of 35 farmers' unions at the Vigyan Bhawan in the national capital.

The government said that the meeting started in the afternoon and discussions are being held in a cordial atmosphere.

Ukraine interested in Turkish-made combat drones

02 Dec 2020; MEMO:  Ukraine is interested in purchasing Turkey's Bayraktar UAVs and wants to carry out a joint project with Turkey through technology sharing, Ukraine's foreign minister said Wednesday.

Dmytro Kuleba expressed his appreciation for the level of dialog and dynamic in Turkish-Ukrainian ties at a news conference following a visit to the Ukraine Association in Ankara.

Turkey-Senegal education, sports deals take effect

03 Dec 2020; AA:  Agreements in the fields of education and sports signed between Turkey and Senegal took effect after being published in Turkey's Official Gazette on Thursday.

The accords were signed on Jan. 28, are valid for five years and aim to further strengthen bilateral relations.

In education, Turkey and Senegal agreed to "expansion of cooperation and exchanges."

Israel transfers $1.14bn in tax revenues to PA

03 Dec 2020; MEMO:  The Israeli occupation authorities have transferred $1.14 billion in tax revenues to the Palestinian Authority (PA) on Wednesday, according to the Palestinian minister of civil affairs.

As stated by Anadolu Agency, Hussein Al-Sheikh posted on Twitter that Israel: "Transferred [to the PA] all the due tax revenues amounting to 3.76 billion shekels ($1.14 billion)."

US companies to reconstruct Libya's infrastructure and economy

03 Dec 2020; MEMO:  Several US company owners have expressed their eagerness to invest technical expertise and financial resources to help rebuild the infrastructure and economy in Libya. This came during a virtual meeting held on Tuesday by the American Chamber of Commerce in Libya (AmCham Libya), with the participation of Washington's Ambassador to Tripoli Richard Norland, according to a statement issued by the US embassy.

Turkey: Overseas logistics centers poised to boost Turkish exports

02 Dec 2020; AA:  The innovation of Turkish overseas logistics centers will ensure the rapid flow of exports and products’ penetration of international supply chains at low cost, thus serving sustainable export growth, according to an expert.

"Logistics centers will also help us boost our capabilities in e-commerce abroad," Turgut Erkeskin, chairman of the Foreign Economic Relations Board's (DEIK) Logistics Business Council, told Anadolu Agency.

EU wants to keep Iran deal alive

02 Dec 2020; MEMO:  The EU remains intent on preserving the Iran nuclear deal, the bloc's top diplomat said Tuesday, reports Anadolu Agency.

Speaking at an event organized by the European External Action Service (EEAS), EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell said the killing of Iranian nuclear scientist Mohsen Fakhrizadeh on November 27 was a "criminal act."

Lebanon central bank can keep subsidies for only two more months

02 Dec 2020; MEMO:  Lebanon's central bank can keep basic subsidies for only two more months and the state should come up with a plan, Governor Riad Salameh said on Tuesday as the country's financial crisis spirals.

He told Saudi's al-Hadath TV the central bank would commit to providing Lebanese government accounts for a forensic audit, but that disclosing those of domestic banks would require a change in legislation.
