PUTRAJAYA (Malaysia), Oct 13 (NNN-Bernama) — The Sudanese Charge d’ Affaires in Kuala Lumpur was summoned by the Foreign Ministry (Wisma Putra) on Wednesday morning to convey Malaysia’s concern over the issue pertaining to the Petronas Sudan Complex in Khartoum.

Several media outlets had reported the Sudanese transitional government is seeking to confiscate assets belonging to Malaysia’s national oil company, including the complex.

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 12 (NNN-Bernama) — Malaysia maintains its stand that the formation of a trilateral security pact between Australia, the United Kingdom and the United States (AUKUS) raises concerns as it has the potential to disrupt peace and stability in Southeast Asia.

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 27 (NNN-Bernama) — Malaysia’s new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours as at 12 noon Monday continue to fall with 10,959 cases reported.

Health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah in a post on social media said new infections reduced by 2,145 cases compared 13,104 cases Sunday.

“The latest development takes the cumulative total of COVID-19 cases in the country to 2,209,194 cases,” he said.

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 23 (NNN-Bernama) — Saudi women have received significant attention under the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 to empower them in various fields.

In an article made available to Bernama in conjunction with Saudi’s 91st National Day on Sept 23, the Media Affairs Department of Saudi Arabia’s Embassy in Malaysia said that Saudi women have achieved qualitative success scientifically, economically, politically and socially.

Social, economic and civil reforms for Saudi women began in 2015, a year before the launching of Vision 2030 by the Kingdom.

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 21 (NNN-Bernama) — Malaysia is taking a cautious stand and is monitoring the latest developments in Afghanistan following the takeover of Kabul by the Taliban last Aug 15, before deciding on the recognition for the interim government, said Foreign Minister Saifuddin Abdullah.

He noted so far the Taliban interim government has not been recognised by any country, including by Afghanistan’s neighbouring countries.
