US court: ‘Additional tariffs on Turkey steel unconstitutional’

17 July 2020; MEMO: The US Court of International Trade has ruled that the additional tariffs imposed by US President Donald Trump on Turkish steel exports are unconstitutional. Following the court’s decision, Turkish steel exporters are preparing to claim compensation for the damages that Trump’s ruling has caused them.

Iranian, Russian presidents discuss ties, US “unilateral” policies

TEHRAN, July 17 (NNN-Xinhua) — Iranian President Hassan Rouhani and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin on Thursday discussed the U.S. “unilateral” policies and the ways to boost bilateral ties.

In a telephone conversation, Rouhani called for enhancing the Tehran-Moscow comprehensive ties, particularly in their battle against COVID-19.

Rouhani also underlined the importance of protecting measures to be taken by the signatories of 2015 Iranian nuclear deal, internationally known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

Egyptian president vows not to stand idle on threats to Egyptian, Libyan security

CAIRO, July 17 (NNN-AGENCIES) — Egypt’s President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi vowed that Egypt will not stand idle in the face of any direct threats to the security of Egypt and Libya.

Sisi made the remarks during his meeting with Libyan tribal leaders who arrived in Cairo on Wednesday to discuss the security situation in the war-torn country, the Egyptian Presidency said in a statement.

“As soon as Egypt interferes in Libya, the military scene will be changed quickly and decisively,” Sisi was quoted as saying.

French FM visits Iraq to confirm support

BAGHDAD, July 16 (Xinhua) -- French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian on Thursday arrived in Iraqi capital Baghdad for an official visit where he confirmed his country's support to Iraq in its war against Islamic State (IS) group.

Le Drian was received by his Iraqi counterpart Fuad Hussein and is scheduled to meet with Iraqi top officials, including Iraqi President Barham Salih and Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadhimi to discuss bilateral relations and cooperation between the two countries.

Nine Wounded In Weapon Depot’s Explosion In Syria’s Hasakah

DAMASCUS, July 16 (NNN-SANA) – A total of nine militiamen of the U.S.-backed Kurdish-led forces were wounded on Wednesday, in an explosion in a weapon depot in Syria’s northeastern province of Hasakah.

Five security troops and four fighters of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) were wounded, in the weapon depot’s explosion in the Mesherfeh neighbourhood on the western outskirts of Hasakah, said the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

The Britain-based group said, the massive explosion caused damage outside the vicinity of the weapon depot that belongs to the SDF.
