At least 5 dead and 7 wounded in clashes inside crowded Palestinian refugee camp in Lebanon

BEIRUT (AP) — Fighting raged Sunday in Lebanon’s largest Palestinian refugee camp near the southern port city of Sidon, killing at least five people and wounding seven, Palestinian officials said.

UNRWA, the U.N. agency for Palestinian refugees, put the death toll at six, and Lebanon’s state-run National News Agency said two children were among those wounded.

Thousands take to streets in Gaza in rare public display of discontent with Hamas

GAZA CITY, Gaza Strip (AP) — Several thousand people briefly took to the streets across the Gaza Strip on Sunday to protest chronic power outages and difficult living conditions, providing a rare public show of discontent with the territory’s Hamas government. Hamas security forces quickly dispersed the gatherings.

Marches took place in Gaza City, the southern town of Khan Younis and other locations, chanting “what a shame” and in one place burning Hamas flags, before police moved in and broke up the protests.

Iraq: Lebanon’s Hezbollah leader urges Muslims to ‘punish’ Quran desecrators if governments fail to do so

BAGHDAD (AP) — The leader of Lebanon’s Shiite militant group Hezbollah said Saturday that if governments of Muslim-majority nations do not act against countries that allow the desecration of the Quran, Muslims should “punish” those who facilitate attacks on Islam’s holy book.

The comments by Hassan Nasrallah came in a video address to tens of thousands gathered in Beirut’s southern suburbs to mark Ashoura, a Shiite holy day commemorating the 7th century martyrdom of the Prophet Muhammad’s grandson Hussein.

Saudi F-15SA Fighter Jet Crashed During Training

RIYADH, Jul 27 (NNN-SPA) – An F-15SA fighter jet, of the Royal Saudi Air Force, crashed during a training session yesterday, killing the crew on board.

Turki Al-Malki, spokesman of the Saudi Defence Ministry, said that, the crash happened near the King Khalid Air Base in Khamis Mushait, around 800 kilometres south-west of the capital, Riyadh.

Al-Malki said that, an investigation was underway to determine the cause of the crash.

The F-15SA is a two-seater fighter jet. Saudi Arabia has not revealed the exact number of those killed in the crash.

UAE Condemns Israeli Minister’s Storming Of Al-Aqsa Mosque

DUBAI, Jul 28 (NNN-WAM) – The United Arab Emirates (UAE), yesterday strongly condemned the storming of the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem by Israeli Minister of National Security, Itamar Ben-Gvir.

In a statement, the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs “reaffirmed the UAE’s firm position on the need to provide full protection for Al-Aqsa Mosque, and halt serious and provocative violations taking place there.”

Jordan’s FM Calls For End To “Illegal Israeli Actions” Against Palestine

AMMAN, Jul 28 (NNN-PETRA) – Jordan’s Foreign Minister, Ayman Safadi, urged an end to “all illegal Israeli actions” that undermine the two-state solution, during a joint press conference with visiting British Foreign Secretary, James Cleverly, in the capital, Amman.

Safadi condemned Israeli extremists for storming the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound and performing “provocative” religious rituals, in violation of international law.

Saudi Arabia Slams Israeli Minister’s Incursion Into Al-Aqsa Mosque Compound

RIYADH, Jul 28 (NNN-SPA) – Saudi Arabia, yesterday, condemned the incursion into the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound in Jerusalem, by Israeli National Security Minister, Itamar Ben-Gvir, and a group of settlers.

In a statement, the Saudi Foreign Ministry denounced the Israeli “systematic practices” as “a flagrant infringement of all international norms and covenants” that provoke the feelings of Muslims worldwide.

Egypt: Sudan conflict brings new atrocities to Darfur as militias kill, rape, burn homes in rampages

CAIRO (AP) — Amna al-Nour narrowly escaped death twice. The first was when militias torched her family’s home in Sudan’s Darfur region. The second was two months later when paramilitary fighters stopped her and others trying to escape as they tried to reach the border with neighboring Chad.

“They massacred us like sheep,” the 32-year-old teacher said of the attack in late April on her home city Geneina. “They want to uproot us all.”

Kuwait Records First Budget Surplus In Nine Years

KUWAIT CITY, Jul 27 (NNN-KUNA) – Kuwait recorded its first budget surplus in nine years, in the fiscal year ending Mar 31, the Finance Ministry announced, yesterday.

Kuwait registered a surplus of 6.4 billion Kuwait dinars (20.85 billion U.S. dollars), in the fiscal year 2022-2023, the ministry said in a statement, published on its website.
