Israel: Likud claims Lieberman has secret bank accounts abroad

24 Sep 2019; MEMO: People close to the Likud leadership have told the Israeli police that the head of Jewish Home party, Avigdor Lieberman, has secret bank accounts overseas, Shehab news agency reported on Monday. According to Israeli news website Wallah, Lieberman did not disclose the existence of these accounts to the authorities.

Houthis: If Saudi continues to attack us, we will respond in deadly manner

24 Sep 2019; MEMO: If Saudi Arabia continues its air strikes, blockade and aggression against Yemen, the Houthis will respond in a “more painful, deadly and destructive”, the group’s leader warned on Friday.

Addressing Al-Masirah TV on the fifth anniversary of the 21 September Revolution, Abdul Malik Al-Houthi warned Saudi against the “ongoing shelling, blockade and aggression” in Yemen.

Turkish War Planes Fly Over Syria In Anti-Daesh Campaign

ANKARA, Sept 24 (NNN-ANADOLU) – Two Turkish F-16 fighter jets, on Monday, flew over Syrian airspace, as part of an anti-Daesh campaign, the Defence Ministry said.

The Turkish jets flew over Syrian airspace for two hours under Operation Inherent Resolve, the statement said.

The operation was formally launched by the United States in 2014, and Turkey is also a part of the campaign. However, Turkey’s air forces have for long not been flying in Syria as part of Operation Inherent Resolve.

Seven-Member Family Killed In Saudi-Led Airstrike In Yemen

SANAA, Sept 24 (NNN-SABA) – At least seven people in a family were killed, when Saudi-led coalition air strike hit the family house and adjoining mosque, in Yemen’s northern province of Amran, Monday, local medics said.

The victims included four children, one medic said.

The house and the mosque were reduced to the ground by three airstrikes, said residents.

Late Sunday night, the Houthi al-Masirah TV reported 27 coalition airstrikes on three northern provinces.

UN Envoy Concludes “Successful Talks” With Syrian FM

DAMASCUS, Sept 24 (NNN-SANA) – Geir Pedersen, UN special envoy for Syria, said, he concluded “very successful” discussions with Syria’s Foreign Minister, Walid al-Moallem, on the formation of a constitutional committee.

Pedersen, who arrived in Syria a day earlier, said, his Monday’s meeting with al-Moallem tackled old standing issues, regarding the formation of a constitutional committee that would be tasked with rewriting the Syrian constitution.

Israeli election rivals meet as deadlock still looms

JERUSALEM (AP) — Israel’s president summoned the leaders of the country’s two largest political parties to his official residence late Monday, hoping to break a political deadlock that threatens to push the nation into months of limbo and potentially force a third election in less than a year.

Neither Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu nor his challenger, former military chief Benny Gantz, commented as President Reuven Rivlin brought them together for a photo at the beginning of the meeting. The two men looked tense and uncomfortable as Rivlin forced a smile.

Russian military police ensure peace in Syria’s Quneitra province, chief says

GOLAN HEIGHTS /Syria/, September 23. /TASS/: Russian military police units deployed to the ceasefire line on the Golan Heights have secured stability and peace in Syria’s Quneitra province, Chief of the Russian Armed Forces’ Military Police in Syria Colonel Alexander Bezklubov told reporters.

According to him, since the Russian military drove militants out of the area a year ago, local residents have been reconstructing their destroyed homes and building new houses.
