Iran's top leader urges U.S. forces exit from Iraq

TEHRAN, April 6 (Xinhua) -- Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said on Saturday that Iraq should consider the withdrawal of the U.S. forces from the country, Financial Tribune daily reported.

"The presence of American military forces in regional states is to the detriment of these countries and the people in the region, so the Iraqi government needs to take action to urge Americans to pull out their troops from Iraq as soon as possible," said Khamenei during his meeting with visiting Iraqi Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi.

Turkey's election results remain in limbo as ruling party disputes opposition's victory in Istanbul

Libyan army threatens to attack gov't air bases, fighter jets

TRIPOLI, April 6 (Xinhua) -- Libya's eastern-based army on Saturday threatened to attack air bases and fighter jets of the UN-backed government in western Libya, as the army continues its efforts to take over the region.

"The Main Operation Chamber of the Air Force declares the western region a no-fly military zone for any fighter jets or drones belonging to any party," said Ahmad al-Mismari, the army's spokesman, in a statement.

World powers demand halt to Libya advance

Erdogan to visit Russia to discuss S-400, joint projects

Arab League chief calls for restraint in Libya

CAIRO, April 5 (Xinhua) -- Secretary-General of the Arab League (AL) Ahmed Aboul-Gheit called Friday on all Libyan parties to practice self-restraint and immediately de-escalate the military situation in the western areas of the country.

In a statement, the AL chief also urged the Libyan parties to abide by the political path as the only solution to the Libyan crisis.

Palestinian official slams Netanyahu's remarks on Gaza, Israeli settlement

RAMALLAH, April 5 (Xinhua) -- A senior Palestinian official slammed on Friday the remarks of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on the Gaza Strip and the continuation of Israeli settlements in the West Bank.

Nabil Abu Rudeineh, spokesman of the Palestinian Authority Presidency, said in an official statement that Netanyahu's remarks show that Israel "acts in accordance with a plan that would keep the internal Palestinian division going on."
