23 Apr 2023; MEMO: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will not attend the annual conference of the Jewish Federation of North America (JFNA) in Tel Aviv over the fear of protest, according to local media, Anadolu reports.
The daily Haaretz reported that Netanyahu will not attend the annual JFNA conference scheduled for April 23-26 for Israel's Independence Day after the country's judicial overhaul protesters called to hold demonstrations during the event.
April 22 (Reuters) - Former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev said on Sunday that if the G7 moved to ban exports to Russia, Moscow would respond by terminating the Black Sea grain deal that enables vital exports of grain from Ukraine. Russia has strongly signalled that it will not allow the deal to continue beyond May 18.

KHARTOUM, April 23 (Reuters) - Sudan's sudden slide into conflict between the army and Rapid Support Forces (RSF) paramilitary group has stranded thousands of foreigners, including diplomats and aid workers, and countries are working to evacuate their nationals.
Several evacuation efforts appear to be via Port Sudan on the Red Sea, which is directly located about 650 km (400 miles) northeast of Khartoum, but is about 800 km (500 miles) by road.

ANKARA, April 22 (Xinhua) -- A total of 21 "terrorists" were killed by Turkish troops over the past four days in northern Syria and Iraq, Turkish Defense Minister Hulusi Akar said on Saturday.
Three of the "terrorists" were killed in Iraq's Zap region, semi-official Anadolu Agency quoted Akar as saying during an event in the Turkish central province of Kayseri.
Calling the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) a "tool in the hands of imperialists" to hinder Türkiye's development, Akar said that the Turkish government is determined to eliminate the PKK.

Pinhasov’s husband sits on the opposite side of Israel’s political divide, and joining the protests will only deepen what she says already are palpable tensions in her household.
“I don’t go to the demonstrations not because I don’t believe in them,” she said. “I don’t go in order to protect my home. I feel like I’m fighting for my home.”
KHARTOUM, Sudan (AP) — American embassy staffers were airlifted from Sudan early Sunday, as forces loyal to rival generals battled for control of Africa’s third-largest nation for a ninth day amid fading hopes for deescalation.
The warring sides said they were helping coordinate the evacuation of foreigners, though continued exchanges of fire in Sudan’s capital undermined those claims.
Tehran (ISNA) – Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, the Commander-in-Chief of the Iranian Armed Forces, met with Iranian commanders and senior military officials on Sunday during which, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution stated that “the enemy can be defeated despite its seemingly solid calculations and military power.”
Ayatollah Khamenei expressed his satisfaction with the continuous movement and progress that is taking place within the country’s armed forces, advising them to not be satisfied with any level of strength and progress and to advance forward without stopping.
Tehran (ISNA) – Iran and Venezuela have signed new oil cooperation documents and memorandums of understanding in the fields of development of oil and gas fields, reconstruction of refineries and petrochemical complexes, and oil trade.
Iran’s Oil Minister Javad Owji, who has traveled to Caracas to enhance bilateral cooperation with Venezuela in the downstream and upstream sectors of oil industry, met with Venezuela's Vice President Delcy Rodríguez and Oil Minister Pedro Rafael Tellechea, during which they signed these documents and MoUs.
