Dozens killed as army, rivals battle for control of Sudan

KHARTOUM, Sudan (AP) — The Sudanese military and a powerful paramilitary group battled for control of the chaos-stricken nation for a second day Sunday, signaling they were unwilling to end hostilities despite mounting diplomatic pressure to cease fire.

A doctors’ group said at least 56 civilians were killed and that it believed there were dozens of additional deaths among the rival forces. The Sudan Doctors’ Syndicate said close to 600 people were wounded, including civilians and fighters.

London, Apr 15 (PTI) A jazzy toe-tapping composition entitled ‘Voices of the World’ will combine the diversity of tunes from across the Commonwealth as part of a range of special compositions chosen for King Charles III’s Coronation ceremony next month, Buckingham Palace revealed on Saturday.

Charles, 74, and Camilla, 75, are to be crowned Britain’s King and Queen at a grand ceremony at Westminster Abbey in London on May 6.

Hacker group "Anonymous Sudan" brings down Israel postal, banking systems

15 Apr 2023; MEMO: Hacker group calling itself "Anonymous Sudan" brought down Israeli postal and banking systems on Friday, Israeli media reported, noting that this massive cyber-attack coincided with International Quds Day marked on the last Friday of holy month of Ramadan.

In a telegram message, the hacker group claimed responsibility for the attacks on the websites of Israel's national mail service and major banks.

Algeria interior minister: 'We are facing a drug war'

Sudan's army declares paramilitary RSF 'rebel' group

15 Apr 2023; MEMO: The Sudanese army declared the paramilitary Rapid Support Force (RSF) a rebel group amid fighting between their forces in the capital Khartoum.

In a statement, the army accused the RSF of attacking its forces in the capital Khartoum and other cities.

"The rebel RSF spreads lies about our forces attacking them, to cover up their rebellious behavior," the army statement said.
