Egypt: 3 prisoners die over 48 hours in prison

14 Sep 2022; MEMO: Three prisoners have died in Egyptian jails over a two day period, with human rights groups calling for investigations into the deaths and conditions they were held in, Al-Quds Al-Arabi reported yesterday.

The paper said Mohmmad Zaki passed away on Saturday in Al Gamassa Prison following the deterioration of his health.

Zaki was sentenced to 15 years in prison after being charged for arson against a court in the city of Ismailiya, east of Egypt.

Saudi Arabia Announced Three Projects In Iron, Steel Sector Worth Nine Billion USD

RIYADH, Sept 13 (NNN-SPA) – Saudi Arabia announced yesterday, three projects in the iron and steel sector, with a value of 35 billion Saudi riyals (9.3 billion U.S. dollars).

The kingdom is working with local and international investors, to establish a variety of investment opportunities in the sector, announced Bandar Al-Khorayef, Saudi minister of industry and mineral resources, at the second edition of the Saudi International Iron and Steel Conference.

Turkiye: Shooting in Istanbul mall leaves 6 injured

12 Sep 2022; MEMO: At least six people were wounded, including one in critical condition after a shooting which took place inside a shopping mall in Istanbul, Turkiye, yesterday.

According to the Daily Sabah, the shooting broke out as a result of a dispute between two groups of people at a café in the Sariyer Mall. The altercation was caught on surveillance cameras.

Iran says developed drone designed to hit Israel's Tel Aviv, Haifa

12 Sep 2022; MEMO: A top Iranian military Commander said Iran has developed a long-range drone that is designed specifically to target the Israeli cities of Tel Aviv and Haifa, Anadolu News Agency reports.

Brigadier General Kiomars Heidari, the Commander of the Iranian army's ground forces, made the remarks in a program broadcast on State TV Sunday night, amid heightened tensions between Iran and Israel.

Israel forces Palestinian single mother of four to demolish own home in occupied Jerusalem

13 Sep 2022; MEMO: A Palestinian single mother of four was forced by the Israeli occupation forces to demolish her own home yesterday in the neighbourhood of Batn Al-Hawa in Silwan, occupied Jerusalem, Wafa has reported.

The Israeli-controlled municipality in Jerusalem forced Nasreen Abu Tayeh to destroy her house on the pretext that it lacked a building licence.
