Final round of voting underway in India’s marathon elections

KOLKATA, India (AP) — Indians voted in the seventh and final phase of national elections Sunday, wrapping up a 6-week-long grueling campaign season with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Hindu nationalist party seeking reelection for another five years.

The voting also covers Modi’s constituency of Varanasi, a holy Hindu city where he was elected in 2014 with an impressive margin of over 200,000 votes.

He spent Saturday night at Kedarnath, a temple of Hindu god Shiva nestled in the Himalayas in northern India.

Kuwait emir calls on army to prepare for regional developments

Austrian president approves snap election proposed by Kurz

The team comes from the Committee of Experts on the Evaluation of Anti-Money Laundering Measures and the Financing of Terrorism, commonly known as Moneyval.

Italy mum who killed kids acquitted

(ANSA) - mantua, May 17: A mother who killed her two children in December 2017 was acquitted Friday after a court ruled she was not in her right mind.

The court said 41-year-old Antonella Barbieri was unable to understand what she was doing when she killed five-year-old Lorenzo Zeus at Suzzara near Mantua and two-year-old Kim at Luzzara near Reggio Emilia on December 7 that year.

Libyan gov't condemns IS attack on southern oil field

TRIPOLI, May 18 (Xinhua): Libya's UN-backed government on Saturday condemned the terrorist attack carried out by Islamic State (IS) affiliates on a southern oil field, which killed two guards and kidnapped four others.

"The Presidential Council of the Government of National Accord condemns the attack that targeted the (government-owned) Zueitina Oil Company in Zalla town," the government said in a statement.
