Israeli forces raid Jerusalem governor’s office

AL-RAM, Palestine; 4 Nov 2018; AA: Israeli forces on Sunday raided the Jerusalem governor’s office in the occupied West Bank, according to local residents. 

“An Israeli force stormed the governor’s office in the town of al-Ram, northeast of Jerusalem, and searched it,” a local resident told Anadolu Agency. 

He said Israeli soldiers assaulted a number of employees inside the office. 

Israel eases restrictions on Gaza to avoid escalation in violence: analysts

GAZA, Nov. 4 (Xinhua) -- The easement of Israeli restrictions on the Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip aims at preventing the explosion of the situation in the Palestinian enclave, according to Palestinian analysts.

In recent days, the 2 million population in Gaza have witnessed a significant improvement in power supplies after Israel allowed the shipment of the Qatar-funded industrial fuel for the operation of the sole power plant in the territory.

Israel also expanded the fishing area to nine nautical miles and improved the functioning of the border crossing points.

Utah National Guard member killed in Afghanistan

KABUL, Afghanistan (AP) — American military officials say a member of the Utah National Guard has been killed in an apparent “insider attack” in the capital of Afghanistan.

The officials say another U.S. service member is being treated for wounds sustained in the attack in Kabul on Saturday.

A statement from a spokeswoman for the NATO-led Operation Resolute Support says the attacker was a member of the Afghan security forces and that initial reports indicate the assailant was immediately killed by other Afghan forces.

Chinese e-crackers a solution to Delhi's air pollution ahead of Diwali festival

NEW DELHI, Nov. 4 (Xinhua) -- Following Indian apex court's recent order banning the polluting fire-crackers, the Made-in-China electronic crackers, or e-crackers, have indeed created a buzz in the markets in Indian capital.

The Chinese e-crackers are as per the norms set by the court, as they do not emit smoke and also produce light and sound, thereby suitably dubbed as environment-friendly.

China, Pakistan ink agreements on bilateral cooperation

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan; 4 Nov 2018; AA:China and Pakistan on Saturday signed 15 agreements and memorandum of understandings (MoUs) for cooperation in diverse fields, including poverty alleviation, agriculture and transfer of electronics, local media reported.

The agreements were signed in a delegation level talks between the Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan and his Chinese counterpart Li Keqiang at the Great Hall of the people in Beijing, according state-run Radio Pakistan. 

Khan is currently on a four-day official visit to China.

Iran strongly condemns U.S. restoration of sanctions

TEHRAN, Nov. 3 (Xinhua) -- Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei dismissed on Saturday the U.S. fresh sanctions on Iran as the failed experience, official IRNA news agency reported.

The U.S. has sought "to cripple and hold back Iran's economy" by resorting to sanctions, "but the outcome is that the country moves broadly towards self-sufficiency," Khamenei was quoted as saying.

"In the past, Iranians had become accustomed to importing everything, but now, they are used to producing those things," he said.

India: Chaos by BJP at Signature Bridge inauguration site

A clash between BJP MP Manoj Tiwari, BJP workers, and AAP workers erupted during the inauguration of Signature Bridge in Delhi.

Police officials escorted Tiwari away from the venue.

BJP Delhi unit chief Manoj Tiwari, was not invited for the inauguration ceremony.

AAP leader Dilip Pandey said that the BJP workers thrashed AAP volunteers and local people, and accused Tiwari for resorting to “hooliganism”.

India: Sexual harassment by Uttarakhand BJP leader

Sexual harassment allegations have been made against an Uttarakhand BJP leader and an inquiry has been initiated into the matter.

A female BJP worker in Dehradun had raised allegations of sexual harassment against a BJP leader who is highly placed in the party’s state unit.

According to The Indian Express, the BJP leader “had been sexually exploiting the woman for about five years, and several complaints of the harassment to various party leaders had gone unacknowledged.”
