Iran continues nuclear cooperation with Russia: nuke spokesman

TEHRAN, Sept. 20 (Xinhua) -- Tehran and Moscow are closely cooperating in various fields of the nuclear industry, the spokesperson for the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) said on Thursday.

"Nuclear cooperation between Iran and Russia is in progress at high level in diverse areas," Behrouz Kamalvandi was quoted as saying by Tasnim news agency.

Iran's cooperation with Russia includes the construction of two new power plants, as well as projects on stable isotopes and nuclear fuel, Kamalvandi said.

Chanced fogging in newly inhabited area!

Abu Dhabi named world's safest city by Numbeo

DUBAI, Sept. 19 (Xinhua) -- Abu Dhabi has been named the safest city in the world for the second year by Numbeo, a website for crowd-sourced global data, Abu Dhabi Department of Culture and Tourism said Wednesday.

Abu Dhabi, capital of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), surpassed more than 300 cities across the world, including Tokyo, Japan, Basel, Munich, and Vienna, to be graded the world's most secure city, according to Numbeo.

The index ranked 338 cities globally by estimating their overall safety levels.

New hope for millions of Afghan refugees in Pakistan?

18 Sep 2018; DW: On Sunday, Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan announced a plan to offer citizenship to Afghan and Bangladeshi refugees who were born in Pakistan.

Khan told local media that Pakistan would will give passports and IDs to Afghans whose children have been raised in Pakistan and who were born there.

"We will also give them citizenship," said Khan.

Turkey’s domestic hybrid locomotive showcased in Berlin

19 Sep 2018; AA: Turkey’s new domestic hybrid locomotive was showcased on Wednesday at a leading international transport technology fair in German capital, a co-production company said.

New locomotive will save 40 percent on fuel with hybrid technology.

In a written statement, Turkish Locomotive and Engine Company Inc (TULOMSAS) said the locomotive was displayed at the International Trade Fair for Transport Technology (InnoTrans) in Berlin.

G7 ministers gather in Canada for climate talks

HALIFAX, Canada, Sept. 19 (Xinhua) -- Environmental and energy ministers from the Group of 7 gathered here Wednesday for a three-day meeting focusing on joint efforts on climate change, ocean conservation and clean energy.

Ministers of the world's advanced economies -- Canada, France, the United States, Britain, Germany, Japan and Italy -- will also hold talks on sustainable finance, plastic pollution and energy security.

Turkey: Lawyer files criminal complaint against Myanmar

DIYARBAKIR, Turkey; 20 Sep 2018; AA: A Turkish lawyer on Thursday filed a criminal complaint against several Myanmar officials on charges of committing genocide against Rohingya Muslims and crimes against humanity in Myanmar's Rakhine State.  

Lawyer Hasan Bozdas submitted the complaint against 22 high-ranking officials of the southeast Asian nation to the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, also accusing them of other crimes to be revealed after investigations.  

Russia-Turkey agreements on Idlib allow Syria’s integrity to be preserved — expert

BEIRUT, September 19. /TASS/. Agreements that the Russian and Turkish Presidents, Vladimir Putin and Recep Tayyip Erdogan, reached in Sochi over Idlib "allowed preserving Syria’s territorial integrity and averting the West’s aggression," Nidal Sabi, a Lebanese political analyst, told TASS on Wednesday.

Sabi, who is said to be an expert in the Syria crisis, said that "the decision approved in Sochi to set up a demilitarized zone provides a chance to disarm the Ankara-backed illegal armed groups in northwest Syria without any fighting or losses."

Xi meets Pakistani army chief

BEIJING, Sept. 19 (Xinhua) -- Chinese President Xi Jinping met with Pakistan's Chief of Army Staff Qamar Javed Bajwa here Wednesday, calling on the two countries to firmly support each other on issues concerning their respective core interests.

Bajwa conveyed cordial greetings from Pakistani President Arif Alvi and Prime Minister Imran Khan to Xi. Xi expressed thanks and asked Bajwa to convey his sincere greetings and best wishes to them.

U.S.-backed rebels to withdraw from near U.S.-base to northern Syria

DAMASCUS, Sept. 20 (Xinhua) -- The former U.S.-backed Liwa Shuhada al-Qaryatayn rebels will evacuate from southern Syria to positions of the Turkey-backed rebels in northern Syria under a deal with the Russians, a pro-government newspaper reported on Thursday.

Citing opposition activists, the al-Watan newspaper said around 5,000 rebels and their families will evacuate in the coming days their positions near the U.S.-run base in the al-Tanf area toward areas controlled by Syrian Democratic Force (SDF) in Aleppo province.

Delhi Asst Com of Police booked for raping woman, molesting minor

Ramesh Dahiya, an Assistant Comissioner of Polce in Delhi, has been booked for alleged rape of a woman and molesting her daughter.

According to The Indian Express, “woman had alleged that she came in contact with Dahiya when he was posted as Station House Officer (SHO)”.

Woman alleged that Dahiya raped her. She also alleged that he molested her minor daughter when she was not at home.
