MOSCOW, December 26. /TASS/: Russia’s coronavirus cases have exceeded 3 million. Another 29,258 cases were confirmed in the past 24 hours, the total number of infected people has reached 3,021,964, the anti-coronavirus crisis center told reporters on Saturday.

According to the crisis center, the growth rate has not exceeded 1% for two days. Russia’s coronavirus cases surpassed 1,000,000 on September 1 and 2,000,000 on November 19.

MOSCOW (Reuters) - Russia on Saturday approved its main COVID-19 vaccine, Sputnik V, for use by people over the age of 60, Russian news agencies cited the health ministry as saying.

People over 60 have thus far been excluded from Russia’s national inoculation programme, as the shot was tested on this age group separately.

MOSCOW, December 25. /TASS/: The first batch-produced multi-role fifth-generation fighter jet Sukhoi-57 has been delivered to a regiment in the Southern Military District, a source in the defense-industrial complex told TASS on Friday.

"The Aerospace Force has obtained the first batch-produced Sukhoi-57 plane. It was delivered to a regiment in the Southern Military district," the source said, adding that another four such jets would be provided for the Aerospace Force in 2021.

MOSCOW, December 25. /TASS/: Russia’s coronavirus cases rose by 29,018 to 2,992,706 in the past 24 hours, the anti-coronavirus crisis center said on Friday.

According to the crisis center, the coronavirus growth rate does not exceed 1%.

The rate is the lowest in the Tuva region (0.5%), the Yamalo-Nenets autonomous region, the Khanty-Mansiysk autonomous region, the Magadan, Karachay-Circassian, Mari El, Novosibirsk and Kemerovo regions (0.6%).

MOSCOW, December 25. /TASS/: The West has not yet provided an official response to Moscow's request concerning blogger Alexey Navalny’s alleged poisoning, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters on Friday, adding that an article published in The Lancet journal could not be viewed as a response.

"We don’t read medical journals," Peskov said, when asked if the Kremlin believed that the article was reason enough to open an investigation. "It is a journal for health professionals and we are not medical workers," he emphasized.

MOSCOW, December 24. /TASS/: The General Staff of Russia’s armed forces has noted the outspoken anti-Russian nature of NATO’s training activities and growing provocations near Russia’s borders, the chief of the General Staff of Russia’s armed forces, First Deputy Defense Minister Valery Gerasimov told a news briefing for foreign military attaches.

"The training of the alliance’s forces is developing an outspokenly anti-Russian bias, with non-NATO countries getting increasingly involved. Provocative activities near Russia’s borders are growing," Gerasimov said.

MOSCOW, December 24. /TASS/: Moscow has nothing to do with cyberattacks on the US and has no intention to interfere in the situation, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters, commenting on reports that US President-elect Joe Biden wanted incumbent President Donald Trump to blame Moscow for the attacks.
